There are few technical devices whose appearance is as changeable as the television. When it is switched on, it fills the room with excitement. When it is switched off, all you can see is a yawning black surface than does nothing but magically attract dust. A television which you could not just switch but have removed altogether would provide really good entertainment.
In other words, high time for a change of programme, decided the Häfele experts for multifunctional furnishing and developed a term of furniture in which the television only makes an appearance when its presence is required.
Here the TV is not just switched off, but taken away altogether.
At first glance, this furniture looks like an elegant sideboard. However, the push of a button reveals what this tidy sideboard is all about: the screen emerges from a flush-recessed flap. This work is carried out by an electric TV lift. All the observer has to do is give the system commands by remote control. However, the clever sideboard is much more than just a TV cabinet. The middle part is open. This is where illuminated glass shelves put collector’s items in an atmospheric light.
The TV is made to appear using remote control commands.
There is plenty of storage space on the left and right behind satinised glass front panels to fill with CDs, DVDs or technical equipment. The pull-out shelves make it easier to look for the films or music that are next on the programme. However, only those in the know will be aware of the fact that there is a safe behind the media compartment. If the block is pulled out and rotated to the side, the hiding place is revealed. The same technology simplifies the cabling of the media centre on the other side of the sideboard.
After the cosy television evening, the TV disappears from view again at the push of a button. Everything disappears from the screen and makes way for sweet dreams.
A large quantity of storage space is also provided.
