Let’s be honest: you only want to see a television when it’s on. The same goes for the entire hi-fi system. And no one really wants to see the unavoidable cables. Why not hide the entire entertainment equipment and only bring it out when you need it? The idea of a functional Entertainment Sideboard was born. Now it was all about the planning.
The Sideboard - modern and practically floating.
The design specification initially sounded contradictory. A quiet and clear style with an elegant and minimalist appearance was the goal. This briefing was implemented using clear lines and indirect lighting which gives the sideboard a modern, almost floating character. However, that is not enough. That which looks good also has to function properly. Let’s take a look at the interior of the sideboard.
You don’t realise what’s inside it at first glance. But at the push of a button, the flat screen television emerges from the sideboard and disappears just as quickly behind the elegant, high-gloss front. When you move the two front doors to the left the hi-fi system appears, which is connected to the integrated loudspeakers on the left and right sides of the sideboard. A bar is hidden behind the centre door, and the left-hand side of the sideboard even has room for a small library.

The cables were a real challenge. The cables of all electronic devices were to be accommodated in the storage space in such a way that they are invisible when the sideboard is opened. This was not an easy task and a little trial and error and discussion was required – but eventually the solution was found. The Häfele joiners installed an additional panel with openings, and the cables became what they should be: invisible.
The Entertainment Sideboard is complete. A high-quality, multi-talented piece with an elegant gleam has been created. And it is the proof that the television and the hi-fi system can be elegantly integrated in a space saving, modern furniture item. Concert, blockbuster or classic movie? Everything is there - but only when you want it.
Elegant and space saving, in spite of the TV and hi-fi system.
