The hotel room door, a recipe for success

Doors from a single source – Häfele with new brand partners

Complete door systems for the hospitality industry from our own development, in an all-inclusive package, available from quantities of one – Häfele has made a good name for itself in this way. The specialist for hardware technology and electronic access control systems is now extending its services for hoteliers with new brand partners and a comprehensive range of services and maintenance for interior doors – an all-round care-free package.

As a logical consequence in the digital age, a hotel door based on BIM (Building Information Modeling) has now been developed with door manufacturer Prüm which is an update to the international success concept for the hospitality industry. Here too, Häfele is again providing an overall concept for hotel room doors which fulfil the requirements of the respective operator and can be configured in an optimum way. The BIM support is now making planning, individual configuration and installation easier, and also has advantages with regard to maintenance during operation. The Häfele Dialock access control system in combination with the smartphone-capable hotel room door terminal, innovative, haptic surfaces for doors and furniture from one mould (also with individual hotel branding) and the well-tried door system with different frame designs enhance this new hotel room door solution as an additional trade mark.

These doors also fulfil the complex requirements of architects, planners and builders without problems. The hospitality industry also benefits from simple planning and installation.

On this occasion, the main focus in the ALLYN hotel ambience on the trade fair booth at BAU was therefore on the complete doors from new brand partner Prüm from the Arbonia Group, Europe’s second biggest door manufacturer with 2.2 million doors produced per annum. In addition to a room entrance door with a DT 710 Dialock terminal, an escape door and a concealed door with an invisibly installed Häfele WT 200 wall terminal were exhibited. The range of complete doors from Häfele – who has successfully collaborated with door manufacturers Herholz, Jeld Wen and RSW Schlatter for years, as well as surface specialists Pfleiderer and Fundemax – has been significantly extended with the new brand partner with regard to complete doors, meaning that even more customers can now reap the benefits of these products.

Häfele also impressed with its own contribution to the complete door product range in the hotel room sanitary area at BAU. The sophisticated bathroom room door made from glass with a rising door hinge, a full-body mirror at both sides and handles from the Häfele hotel assortment caused just as much of a stir as a shower door with integrated branding. The rising door hinge allows the door to close automatically in a simple mechanical way, and for years it has therefore been reliably preventing collisions with the room entrance door with outwards-opening doors in small bathrooms, as is the case in many ibis hotels.

Award-winning, simple and secure
Doors have to fulfil special requirements in hotels. The certified hotel room door from Häfele provides hotel guests and hoteliers with security and a high degree of soundproofing. They prevent forced entry and cut out external noise. A high-quality coating of the robust door leaf provides additional resistance and longevity. The Dialock electronic access control system from Häfele provides convenient and contemporary contactless access to the hotel room. The Dialock door terminal acts as an interface to the hotel software with all control functions and, if required, also to the smartphone app with key function.

The recommended basic configuration includes: Door leaf, steel or wooden door frames, the finishes of the door front, fittings, project hinges, concealed door closers, Dialock terminal DT 700 and DT 710, mortice lock with closing spring latch, fire resistance-tested door viewer and automatic retractable door seal.
The hotel room door package has received several awards, e.g. the Intergastra innovation award. It is certified in accordance with EN 1191. This includes an endurance function test of the overall system with
200,000 cycles.

Maximum operating reliability by means of service
With modular service agreements which are individually tailored to the needs of the hotel companies, Häfele provides maximum operating reliability and problem-free operation round the clock.
